My son is very into Scratch Jr. right now. I think coding is very important skill for all students to learn. ( I am new and learning just like the students) Scratch Jr. is a great start and even students in Grade 7 and 8 can use their integers, transformations, and spatial reasoning skills while having fun. Scratch is amazing and students can use so many math skills while they learn to code.

I am also an Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Communications Technology, and Elementary teacher as well. I have worked in the private business sector for over ten years and I also own and run an online clothing store for children. Financial Literacy is very important and the Ministry of Education has many resources outlining it's importance to all curriculum especially math. Please check it out.

My New Math Adventure!
I am very excited to continue my professional development as a teacher. I am always looking for new ideas and ways to improve. I am so glad I decided to take an ABQ in math. I have learned so many new things and have decided to share them. My first post has to be about my two new favourite technology ideas for the classroom.
1. Gizmos are mini applets that follow the Ontario math and science curriculum. It is licensed for teachers of grades 7-12.
2. Desmos are a collection of unique and engaging activities for the students. Desmos can show students what their answers mean, then give them the opportunity to improve their thinking and revise their work.
